Next week the entire GHS community will take part in our annual Punkin’ Chunkin’ event! This event also coincides with Spirit Week! This week is always full of fun and laughs and we cannot wait to have some fun. The Spirit Week schedule is available at the link below.
Welcome Back!
As Granite Hill enters its 3rd week of the 2022-2023 school year, we are excited to share some of the changes in the school this year. First we have a few new staff members that the students have already had a chance to meet. We would like to welcome them all to the GHS community!
This year, all students are participating in a new advisory program. In this program students get to work on tasks that focus on social emotional learning (SEL). These skills will help them be successful both in and out of the classroom. Activities included team building games, strategy exercises, and brain teasers.
We are also excited to share that over the summer 4 elements of a high ropes course were added to the property. Students will have a chance to use this course at various times throughout the year.
We are thrilled to see what this new school year will bring!
3rd Quarter Update
We are halfway through the 3rd quarter! The end of the year is coming up fast! Students have settled into their second semester classes and have been working hard. Progress reports are being prepared by teachers this week and will be sent home next week. GHS is aware of the changes in mask mandates and is currently working on revising our mask policy. For the time being, our mask policy will remain the same. GHS will notify all community members if any changes to our mask policy occur.
Switching It Up
Hello GHS community! Can you believe the mid-point of the school year is upon us? This is the last week of the first semester. Students are working hard finishing up their first semester courses. On Monday, all classes will switch and students will begin new classes for second semester. Report cards for this quarter will also be going home once grades are finalized.

While the high school at GHS is virtual, students should follow the schedule below. Students are expected to attend ALL classes at the designated time; as if they were at school in person. A Block Start Time: 9am
B Block Start Time: 10am
C Block Start Time: 11am
D Block Start Time: 12pm
Schedule Changes – Important Information
GHS Community,
Due to an increased amount of cases in the high school community, the high school will be going remote for the week of 1/10/22. The daily schedule will be emailed to students. Students should check their GHS email for the daily remote schedule as well as information that may be sent from teachers.
It should also be noted that there is a change to the official school calendar. GHS will NOT be in sessions on 1/17 in observance of Civil rights day.
School Closings
As a friendly reminder, anytime that GHS will be closed it will be available at WMUR. Once you go to their website, click on the tab for closings, and you will see Granite Hill School listed. Remember, if your student’s district closes due to weather, but GHS is still open, they are not expected to come in.
Fall Fun
Last week students and staff participated in a school wide competition. The goal was to build a machine that could throw a pumpkin as far as possible. Students worked in teams all week to build their machine, and then on Friday the entire school came together to test the machines! During this week staff and students also participated in a spirit week. Everything culminated on Friday afternoon with a Halloween party!
Students continue to work hard as the quarter ends next week. Report cards will be sent home shortly after.
Fall Update
The year has kicked off to a great start. Students have been working hard and progress reports are being completed this week. At the end of the month students and staff will also be participating in a Spirit Week.
Fall Update – 8.25.21
Welcome Back!
I sent an email out ahead of time to let everyone know GHS would be doing the beginning of the year paperwork a little differently this year. I am still looking for a system that works. If you as a parent or guardian have a suggestion, please share. I have the hardest time getting paperwork back, most of which is required.
I will be sending a folder home with your student on the first day of school, September 8th. Paperwork is due back by Friday, September 10th.
If your student has had an updated physical or immunizations, please have your Dr’s office send a copy to GHS. Both fax number and address are below. Immunizations are a requirement by the state for reporting purposes. If your student does not have one or both of these, there will be a letter in the front of your student’s folder.
If you have any questions about these items, please don’t hesitate to ask me! I can be reached reach during school hours, by email at heather@162.241.240.79, or by phone at 603.863.0697. Can’t wait to see you all!
